30+ systems integrated · 130+ interfaces governed · 5%→15% online revenue share · 3× digital revenue growth
When one of the UK’s most loved retailers needed to scale its digital architecture to match a fast-growing online business, SAVI3 delivered the enterprise integration blueprint that connected 30+ systems and tripled digital revenue within three years.
The challenge
The retailer had built its technology estate over decades of in-store operations. As online trading accelerated — driven by shifting consumer behaviour and a rapid expansion of the e-commerce proposition — the existing architecture struggled to keep pace. Order management, warehouse operations, customer data platforms, and digital storefronts operated in silos, with point-to-point integrations that couldn’t scale reliably.
Online revenue had stalled at roughly 5% of total sales. Leadership recognised that closing the gap with digital-native competitors would require not just better technology, but a fundamentally different approach to integration architecture.
What we did
SAVI3 led the end-to-end enterprise integration architecture for the retailer’s digital transformation. Our work spanned integration strategy and platform selection, API design and governance across 130+ interfaces, event-driven architecture for real-time inventory and order visibility, and master data management connecting product, customer, and supplier records across the estate.
We established an integration centre of excellence, defining the standards, patterns, and governance model that enabled the retailer’s internal teams to build and maintain integrations at scale — without accumulating technical debt.
The results
Online revenue grew from 5% to 15% of total retail sales within three years. Digital revenue tripled. The retailer’s ability to launch new channels, fulfilment models, and customer experiences accelerated dramatically — with new integrations delivered in weeks rather than months.
This engagement demonstrates SAVI3’s approach to retail digital transformation: not just connecting systems, but building the architectural foundation that makes continuous innovation possible.
